Dr. David Calhoun

Dr. Calhoun graduated from the University of Louisville with a bachelors degree in Biology. He taught biology at the Jefferson Community College. After graduating from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 1980, he worked in a clinic in Eastern Kentucky providing dental care for the needy people of Appalachia. Dr. Calhoun moved back to his hometown of Louisville and started his dental practice on Dixie Highway. He has been at his current location since 1988. Dr. Calhoun speaks Spanish fluidly. He is a member of the Louisville Dental Society, the Kentucky Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Calhoun and his wife enjoy bird watching in their spare time.

Each of our staff members is dedicated to making sure that your visit is as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and to see that you receive excellent personalized care. Our front desk staff helps assist you in appointment scheduling, answering your billing questions, making financial arrangements. We also make sure our patients receive the maximum benefit from any dental insurance they may have. Our chair side assistants assist Dr. Calhoun during treatment while helping provide a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Yolanda Del Risco

Yolanda has been working with Dr. Calhoun since 2007. She has two years experience as a certified dental assistant. She is originally from Cuba and she is completely bilingual in English and Spanish.

Melanie Rheaume

Melanie has been working with Dr. Calhoun since 2004. She is the cheerful voice that usually answers the phone. She is excellent at all business office matters, scheduling, accounting, and is a master of our SoftDent computer software.

Carla Brown

Carla has been working with Dr. Calhoun since 1996. She has been working in dentistry since 1995. She is compassionate and very experienced in both chair side dental assisting (EDDA) and in the front office.
